So many family holiday guides cater for small children, but there are fantastic destinations across the Merseyrail network that will appeal to older kids and teenagers too. Whether they're into indoor climbing, go-karting or making the most our regions beaches, there is so much choice across the Merseyrail network.

Nerf Centre Liverpool

Liverpool's first ever Nerf Centre is a soft play space, complete with brightly coloured foam matts and walls.

The centre is designed for children over the age of 4 and has no age restriction, so don’t worry you adults can get involved too!

Awesome Walls

Awesome Walls is Liverpool’s finest climbing wall, which offers a safe and fun climbing environment. It is situated in a beautiful 150 year old church, with over 1000 square metres of climbing and hundreds of routes.

With walls that cater for all abilities, from small top rope walls to the awesome 17.5 metre lead wall, you will be sure to find a route that suits you.

Championship Adventure Golf

With floodlights allowing late night golfing, this really is the perfect ALL family outdoor golfing attraction on Wirral's New Brighton resort.  

There are two magnificent 18 hole adventure golf courses for you to enjoy.  You can take on 18 of the World's greatest golf holes, or try the challenging 'Landmark' course where each hole is inspired by one of the Wirral's famous landmarks!

Splash World

Southport’s splashtastic indoor all weather water park offers a brilliant action packed day out for all of the family!

Bounce House is the ultimate inflatable theme park where the freedom to let loose is euphoric.

Located on the Waterfront, TeamSport Liverpool is the place to be for Go Karting.

Chester Zoo

As if Chester Zoo wasn’t exciting enough with all of your favourite animals and the amazing Islands, why not go and see the new baby elephants and giraffe! Grab a Chester Zoo combination ticket from any staffed Merseyrail station and you’ll enjoy a reduced admission price, the shuttle from Chester station to the zoo and the best value rail ticket for your family. 

Beaches

It may not be the weather for sunbathing and paddling, but the beach is the perfect setting for a family stroll or for burning some energy running down the sand dunes. West Kirby and New Brighton are great places to enjoy a day out with lots of nearby places to grab a bite to eat after. At Formby there's the added bonus of the red squirrel reserve in the pinewoods and at Crosby it's mandatory to get a selfie with the Iron Men.

Bubbles' World of Play, New Brighton

All kids enjoy slides and ball ponds so why not visit Bubbles World of Play which is home to the largest play frames in the UK. 

Children can adventure around the world, Hunt for the hidden doors in the Egyptian Tomb, rebuild Stonehenge, fly down the Transportation Astralide, sneak through the Penguin's Nest and dodge canons in the Wild West!
