Bikes on the new trains
Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has introduced publicly owned, state-of-the-art trains. The fleet of 777s have modernised rail services across the Merseyrail network. View the video or read on to learn more.
Passengers travelling with bikes are advised to walk their bikes to the correct position on the platform, and are reminded that cycling on platforms is not permitted for safety reasons.
There are spaces that have been specifically designed for bikes.
The doors closest to the areas are marked with a bike symbol on the outside of the train.
The new trains have buttons on the inside and outside that you need to push to open the doors.
An innovative sliding step meets the platform edge, making it easier to get your bike on and off the train.
Once on board, there is space for up to 3 bikes in each docking area. Cyclists are asked to use these docking areas, to keep aisles and entry ways clear.
