Roman Tours Chester

At Roman Tours, history is lifted directly from the page and you will see past events in a way you haven’t seen before.

Established in 1997, Roman Tours Chester offer a unique and exciting tour using authentic clothing and equipment; bringing informative, educational and interactive experiences that are suitable for all ages. Roman Tours have their own re-enactment display team that provide gladiatorial battles and displays of military exercises.

With tours lasting 90 minutes, you will be taken on a journey through the remains of Roman Chester. You will be provided with a unique insight into life as it was in Roman Britain, showing you some amazing sights from the amphitheatre itself to the remains hidden away in the basements of the high street shops. Gaining fantastic reviews from families, it's great fun for all ages and a fantastic way to see Chester. 

This is a unique tour that will allow you to see the city with a ‘real roman’ and enjoy a light-hearted journey discovering the Roman heritage of Chester.

The tours run each day at 12:00 and 15:00 and start at the Tourist Information Centre next to the Town Hall.
