Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Merseyrail will be running a reduced timetable, with trains every 30 minutes on all lines. There are likely to be further amendments to our timetable over the coming weeks, and we encourage all customers to check before you travel. We ask passengers to follow government advice and avoid unnecessary travel. Our priority is to provide a service for key workers and essential journeys. There are changes to Wirral line services on Sunday 29th March, please check before you travel.
Merseyrail is a 50:50 joint venture between Serco Group Plc and Abellio. We also hold a 25 year concession agreement with Merseytravel.
We employ over 1200 people providing almost 800 local train services across Merseyside every day. We manage 68 stations as well as having staff based at our train maintenance depots and at our head office ‘Rail House’ in central Liverpool. We employ people in a number of business areas including Customer Services, Traincrew, Engineering, Train Presentation, as well as a number of clerical and managerial posts.
