Train services between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central are currently suspended due to a cable fault causing the power supply to the third rail to be severely reduced. Rail replacement buses are running between all affected stations. We have been advised by Network Rail that it is unlikely that services will be running between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central until start of service on Monday morning (22 July). If Network Rail identify the problem and fix the fault before this time, we will reinstate the normal train service well in advance of Monday. Walrus is Merseytravel’s smart ticketing card for public transport across Merseyside. You can now load Saveaway tickets onto the card at Merseyrail stations. You can find more information about Saveaway here.
There is a £1 activation charge when you buy a new Walrus Card so if you already have a card remember to keep hold of it.
Saveaway tickets are valid for travel on rail, bus and ferry before 6.30am and after 9.30am weekdays or anytime on weekends and bank holidays.
