A Railpass won't save me money

I have to queue up to renew my Railpass on a Monday morning

Not only do you avoid a daily visit to the ticket office with a Railpass, when you come to renew your pass you don't have to wait until the morning it has expired to renew it. Simply pop along to a station ticket office on your way home instead and enjoy those few more minutes in bed in the morning! Guidelines for renewal time periods are detailed below.

I don't need a pass for the Merseyrail network, I only travel a few stops

Perfect, you only pay for the parts of the network that you use, the Railpass is priced based on zones and areas. We won't charge you for travelling on the Wirral Line if you only use the Northern Line!

I can only use my Railpass for commuting / during the week

With a Railpass you get unlimited travel! Travel on the train in peak hours, at weekends and as many times a day as you want. It's also a ticket to great days out across Merseyside!

The Railpass savings don't take into account weekends and annual leave

All of our Railpass saving calculations are based on travelling 5 days a week, and the Annual Railpass saving calculations also take into account days off for the standard number of days annual leave. However you are free to use a Railpass as much as you want, so if you use it for a day out at the weekend too you'll save even more!

It's complicated to apply for a Railpass

One short application form is all it takes. Take a passport photo to any staffed Merseyrail station with your form and they will issue your Railpass straight away. Once issued you don't need to complete any other forms when you renew your pass.

I can't pay for an Annual Railpass in installments

You can save the most with an Annual Railpass, but if the upfront cost is holding you back, ask your employer to join Merseyrail's Corporate Ticket Scheme. Many businesses are already members, meaning they can buy annual Railpasses on behalf of their employees, which the employee then pays back on a monthly basis.
