Spontaneous plans need regular trains
Let's get going to a meal and drinks with friends, a shopping trip in Liverpool, a live music gig, a walk along the coast, whatever your plans, we have regular trains and affordable tickets to get you there.
Trains are running every 15 - 20 minutes Mon - Sat from the start of service to approximately 19:00 when most lines change to a 30 minute timetable. Trains also run every 30 minutes on Sundays.
Timetables vary per line, with trains running every 20 minutes until the end of service on the Southport line. The quickest way to check your train times and journey time is to use the Journey Planner below:
Returns from £2.25 and Day Saver tickets available online
A day or night out doesn't have to cost a fortune, with Merseyrail return tickets starting at £2.25.
Day Saver tickets are valid for unlimited travel on the Merseyrail network, only excluding peak hours 06.31 - 09.29 Monday - Friday. Outside of these hours, including all day weekends and Bank Holidays you can hop on and off the train as much as you want and can work out cheaper than a return ticket. Even better, the all areas Day Saver is now available to buy online, so you can buy in advance and skip the ticket office at the station.
