Our Merseyrail trains can take you everywhere across the Liverpool City Region. Now take your imagination around the region too and write amazing Summertime Stories/Train Track Tales and win prizes.
If you are aged between 5-8 years/9-11 years then you can enter our FREE writing competition over the summer of 2019.
We have teamed up with local author, Charlie Lea from Read Now Write Now, who has written THREE creative writing worksheets for budding authors to choose from and write amazing stories. The settings for all these stories are based on locations in and close to the Liverpool City Region and which are served by Merseyrail Trains and all have a different theme to write about. Perhaps you are about to go on a day trip to visit one of them.
Prizes will be awarded after consideration by the judges: Charlie Lea from Read Now Write Now and Sally Ralston from Merseyrail and will be awarded by age range and not the theme or location. Really good writers who did not receive a prize may be commended.
Only writers in the age ranges 5-8 and 9-11 years will be eligible, and the following prizes will be awarded.
Prize winners will be required to attend a special prize giving award ceremony at the end of the competition. Prize winners and commended writers will receive a certificate. A copy of this certificate will be sent to your school.
Prize winners and commended stories will also be displayed online and at local stations.
