Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Merseyrail will be running a reduced timetable, with trains every 30 minutes on all lines. There are likely to be further amendments to our timetable over the coming weeks, and we encourage all customers to check before you travel. We ask passengers to follow government advice and avoid unnecessary travel. Our priority is to provide a service for key workers and essential journeys. There are changes to Wirral line services on Sunday 29th March, please check before you travel.
Storm Ciara Timetable ChangesShare
Due to expected adverse weather conditions in the region, Network Rail may put into effect a speed restriction across our network.
- Timetables on the Chester & Ellesmere Port lines will change, with some services departing earlier or later. Full timeable information can be found below.
- Planned engineering work on the Southport line will still go ahead, wiith rail replacement buses running between Sandhills and Formby stations. Full information can be found HERE.
- Passengers are advised to check our website or Twitter account @merseyrail before they travel for the latest service updates.
- Those who live near railways lines should ensure trampolines, gazebos or similar items are fixed in place, as they become airborne very easily in strong winds and can end up on the railway resulting in disruption.
If you, or anyone you know, has precarious trees, trampolines or similar items on their property that could fall or be blown onto the railway, please report it to Network Rail’s customer helpline on 0345 711 4141.
We apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause.
