From Monday 18 May, Merseyrail will be increasing services on the network, including reinstating some services before 07:00 and after 19:00, Monday – Saturday. Services will continue to run between approximately 08:00 – 20:00 on Sundays.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Merseyrail for Station Assistants.
Fixed Term contract until 31st July 2020 with anticipation this will lead to permanent contract (probationary period would still apply).
Sitting within our Stations function, Station Assistants are the face of the company therefore play a vital part of Merseyrail’s success.
A very diverse role, every hour/day throwing up a new challenge therefore requiring individuals who can deliver excellent customer service, think on their feet and have a good standard of education.
Competitive salary: Training rate: £17,792 increasing to £21,685 if successfully pass out of training.
Due to the high demand for these roles as part of the recruitment process there will be 3 stages to the process to commence your Merseyrail journey please follow the following process:
Stage 1 – Express interview with a Station Manager
You are required to ring 0151 955 2048 on Tuesday 7th January 2020 between the hours of 9.30 and 16.00 hours.
Due to limited places available you will be allocated a specific slot to for an interview. Once all slots are filled the telephone line will close.

Interviews will be taking place on:
Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th January 2020 at ½ hourly slots between 09:30 to 16:00

If successful in all previous stages you will be invited to a half day assessment 29th or 30th January 2020, which involves a few group activities.
We wish to be in a position to make offers week commencing 3rd February 2020, if you are offered a position we would be giving 4 weeks’ notice for a start date approximately 2nd March 2020. Within this 4 weeks you will be required to attend a medical, which includes a drug/alcohol test. Should you fail this test the offer of employment will be withdrawn.
As previously stated due to the high volume of applicants we are unable to accommodate any candidates who, if successful, cannot attend any of the above stages. Flexibility within a Station Assistant role is vital therefore this is also a reflection of the expectations of the position.
