Safer Travel Pledge

Share

Merseyrail has continued running rail services as part of the national effort to deal with the COVID-19 crisis. In line with latest government advice please only travel if you need to, such as to and from work or school. If you do need to travel with us, you should maintain social distancing wherever possible and remember passengers must wear their own face covering whilst on our trains, unless exempt. The government has made this mandatory from 15 June 2020. Please also wear one at our stations and check our information pages before you travel. A £6,400 maximum fine applies.

This is our safer travel pledge to you.

We are...

Maximising Space

  • Running as many services for you as possible
  • Putting up floor markings and signage on our network to help you get around safely

Boosting Cleaning

  • Cleaning our trains and stations more frequently and more thoroughly throughout the day, focussing on the areas you are most likely to touch
  • Using powerful anti-viral cleaning products

Helping with hygiene

  • Replenishing soap supplies in our stations more frequently
  • Ensuring you can easily buy hand sanitiser and face coverings at high footfall staions from our Mtogo stores

To help us keep you safe, you can...

  • Only travel if you need to, such as to and from work or school
  • Avoid busy times - Travel at quieter times and keep your distance wherever possible
  • Wash your hands – Carry hand sanitiser and wash your hands before and after your journey
  • Bring a face covering– Make sure you wear a face covering throughout your journey unless you are exempt . A maximum £6,400 fine applies.
  • If you are a disabled person and need assistance, please book ahead if possible
  • Consider others -  Not all disabilities can be seen
  • Check before you travel – visit our website or check Twitter @merseyrail for lastest information on your journey
