Get out and about this half term

With so much going on across the Merseyrail network, why not get the train with us?

To get you started, we've put together a guide on the network, the best tickets available, as well as the very best events and activities Merseyside has to offer this autumn...

Our Network

Our Network covers both the Liverpool and Wirral regions, with 68 stations spread across Merseyside.

We can take you from the beautiful Roman city of Chester, to the picturesque seaside resort of Southport, and with four stations across the Liverpool city centre, travelling across Merseyside for business or pleasure could not be easier.

For more info, please see our network map, or our comprehensive list of stations and facilities.

Daily Travel

With so much to see on our network, and so many different tickets and passes available, there really is no excuse to not get out and about in 2018.

With return travel starting at just £2.05, and our Day Saver offering unlimited off-peak travel from £5.20, we've got options for any journey.

Anytime Single / Return Tickets

Travel at any time of the day locally or on the national rail network with a standard single or return ticket. Prices vary and are based on your station of origin and destination. Check the ticket price for your journey using the Journey Planner below.

Anytime Day Single and Anytime Day Return tickets are valid for one single or return journey on the date shown on the ticket.

Cheap Day Returns

If you are travelling outside peak hours (peak time is 06.31 – 09.29), save money by purchasing a Cheap Day Return ticket. Fares vary and are based on your station of origin and destination.

It may be cheaper to buy a Day Saver if you are only travelling on our network. Click here for more information.

Child Tickets

Children (aged 5 - 15) travel for 50% off standard adult fares. Children under 5 years travel for free.

Family Ticket

Spend quality time with loved ones and enjoy a great day out with our Family Ticket.

Whether it's a planned or unplanned day out, our frequent and reliable service will get you to most major attractions and destinations in Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire.

A Family Ticket can be used for a family of up to 5 for just £11! It covers 1 or 2 adults travelling with children aged 5-15.

Family Tickets are valid for unlimited travel, only excluding peak hours 06.31 - 09.29 Monday - Friday. Outside of these hours, including all day weekends and Bank Holidays you can hop on and off the train as much as you want with a Family Ticket!

Tickets are valid on both the Northern and Wirral Merseyrail lines and on Northern Rail on the City Line. Each group must include at least one adult.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day of travel from your nearest Merseyrail or Northern Rail booking office.
