UPDATE: Platform 2 will reopen Wednesday 16 October.
The platform upgrade work at Green Lane will be completed ahead of schedule and platform 2 will reopen on Wednesday 16 October.
Trains travelling from Liverpool towards Chester and Ellesmere Port will call at Green Lane as normal from the start of service on Wednesday.
Please note that due to planned engineering work, rail replacement buses will run between Hamilton Square and Chester / Ellesmere Port on Sunday 20 October.
Due to platform upgrade works platform 2 ( towards Rock Ferry ) will be out of use. Trains from Liverpool to Chester and Ellesmere Port will not stop at Green Lane.
Passengers travelling towards Hooton/Chester or Ellesmere Port from Green Lane should board any Liverpool bound train from Platform 1 and change at Birkenhead Central for their onward journey.
Passengers travelling from Liverpool to Green Lane are advised to travel to Rock Ferry and change onto a Liverpool bound train which will call at Green Lane.
Please note that the last train from Liverpool to Rock Ferry that will allow passengers to board a train back to Green Lane departs James Street station at 23:32. The 23:48 from James Street will arrive at Rock Ferry after the last train to Green Lane has departed.
Passengers should allow extra time for their journeys.
Please note: Trains toward Liverpool are not affected by these works.
Our usual arrangements to support customers that need assistance to travel will remain in place during the works.
We would encourage all customers who require assistance to contact us in advance so that we can offer the level of support needed where possible.
Ideally 24 hours’ notice is required, however we understand this may not always be possible and will work hard to ensure you can complete your journey with us.
