Industrial Action on Southern RailShare
Ticket acceptance and journey planning during RMT and ASLEF industrial action.
Unfortunately, if you are travelling on Southern Rail, from Tuesday 6 December until further notice, industrial action by the RMT and ASLEF unions will severely disrupt your journey. Find out more by clicking here and for journey planning information 24 hours before you travel click here.
Your train service will be particularly disrupted on the drivers’ strike dates when there will be no services on most routes. If you decide to travel on another operators’ trains or on a different type of public transport, while these will not be affected by strikes, they may be busier than usual.
Information for passengers with tickets booked on strike days:
If you have a ticket booked for a journey that involves travelling on the Southern Rail network on one of the strike days, and you decide not to travel, you can get a refund from the company from which you originally bought the ticket.
Alternatively, you can travel on the first non-strike day after your booking though we may not be able to guarantee you a seat as trains are likely to be very busy. Please note: your tickets will only be valid on the first non-strike day after your original booking.
