Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Merseyrail will be running a reduced timetable, with trains every 30 minutes on all lines. There are likely to be further amendments to our timetable over the coming weeks, and we encourage all customers to check before you travel. We ask passengers to follow government advice and avoid unnecessary travel. Our priority is to provide a service for key workers and essential journeys. There are changes to Wirral line services on Sunday 29th March, please check before you travel.
Car Free DayShare
Did you know that cars can generate 3 times more carbon emissions than trains? Give the planet a rest on Car Free Day - Sunday 22nd September.
One day a year is set aside for people to try to avoid using the car and use alternative transport instead. It's all about raising awareness of greener ways to travel and encourage people to consider their carbon emissions.
To make this really easy for our passengers and celebrate Car Free Day, this Sunday 22nd September kids go free on Merseyrail trains!
Children 15 or under will travel for free with a paying adult, including anyone with a valid rail season ticket. Up to 4 children can travel for free per adult. Simply head to any Merseyrail ticket office and along with the adult ticket, accompanying children will be given a special free ticket for Car Free Day.
Small travel changes can help to protect the environment, do your part this Car Free Day.
