From Monday 18 May, Merseyrail will be increasing services on the network, including reinstating some services before 07:00 and after 19:00, Monday – Saturday. Services will continue to run between approximately 08:00 – 20:00 on Sundays.
As part of LightNight 2019, Merseyrail is hosting a light and sound spectacular at Moorfields Station. Ritual 2.0 is a specially commissioned installation from AV artist Sam Wiehl and musician Forest Swords.
LightNight is a fantastic display of the culture and creativity that Liverpool has in abundance, and we are proud to be taking part in such a unique festival by bringing this innovative display to Moorfields station.
The immersive experience takes place in the tunnel near to the Old Hall entrance of Moorfields and features digital graphics created by the artist who has produced work across Europe and is based in Liverpool. The accompanying soundtrack will be mixed by Forest Swords, a critically-acclaimed experimental musician, producer and composer from the Wirral.
The event launches Liverpool publication Bido Lito!’s bido100! programme, a series of projects marking the 100th issue of the magazine. Ritual 2.0 will explore the relationship between the future, technology and creativity, as the magazine looks forward to what our city will look like in 100 issues’ time.
Through new trains on our network and future smart ticketing Merseyrail is supporting the development of the Liverpool City region and the technology of tomorrow. With this event Merseyrail is supporting artistic endeavour in the city as well as engaging with interesting conversations around Liverpool’s future.
Ritual 2.0 will provide an illuminating experience for all visitors to the event and give participants a chance to see Moorfields Station in a whole new context. Performances at Ritual 2.0 start from 17:00 with the installation running until 22:30.
