Merseyrail Sound Station artists will be sound tracking Liverpool BID's Celebrating Bold Street event on Sunday 7 July.
A selection of artists from the first three semesters of the project will be appearing on the Bido Lito! stage with live performances throughout the day.
Merseyrail Sound Station provides extensive development sessions and mentoring to musicians showing promise in all areas of the Merseyside music scene.
The programme is designed by Merseyrail and Bido Lito! to provide a quality development programme for a wide variety of musicians based in the region.
The first semester of Merseyrail Sound Station took place in summer 2018 with artists benefitting from advice from industry professionals and performing at BBC Music Day as part of Merseyrail Sound Station Live at Liverpool Central Station.
Celebrating Bold Street event shines the spotlight on Bold Street as the finale of Independents Week in Liverpool. It promises visitors food, drink and live entertainment courtesy of some of Liverpool’s best restaurants, shops and musicians.
Performing at the street party will be Niki Kand, Sara Wolff, Ben Burke, Michael Aldag and Jazmine Johnson.
All the artists have taken part in the Merseyrail Sound Station project – funded by Merseyrail - where they have received expert industry advice, workshops from seasoned professionals and other development opportunities.
Ben Burke recently played to 50,000 Liverpool FC fans as he performed in the Boss Night Fan Park in Madrid before the team’s victorious UEFA Champions League final.
Regular gig goers will be familiar with the electronic pop sonics of Niki Kand who is making a name for herself with her catchy tracks.
Sara Wolff’s jazz infused folk will delight the Bold Street revellers while Michael Aldag and Jazmine Johnson are two artists who are hotly tipped by various quarters.
Celebrating Bold Street will see some of Bold Street’s finest eateries, such as Maray, Mowgli, LEAF, Soul of Bold Street - one of the street’s oldest establishments, and American Pizza Slice, come out onto the pavement and showcase their delicious menus to the general public.
Bakchich will be laying on an on-street Lebanese barbecue to ramp up the summer vibes, while those of us who love a good burger will have the chance to be among the first to sample Honest Burgers ahead of its opening in the summer.
Celebrating Bold Street will also include family-friendly entertainment and animation, sure to wow the crowds.
