Merseyrail has been announced as this season’s Southport Football Club Community Partner, continuing a decade-long relationship with the club.
This new and exciting partnership will see Merseyrail working alongside the club on a range of community projects including dementia groups, Sefton Veterans, Sporting Memories, Kids Clubs, Merseyside Sport, The Royal British Legion and beyond.
The train operator is also the club’s shirt sleeve sponsor for the 2019/20 season.
Andy Heath, Managing Director at Merseyrail, said: “We are extremely proud to continue our relationship with Southport FC for another 12 months as Community Partners.
“We have had a partnership with the club in one form or another over the last ten years and have seen the real impact it has had on the local community.
“The work the club does with schools, football development and beyond is second to none and it’s a privilege to be able to support that over the next year.”
Darren Wildman, Southport FC Community Development Manager, said: “I am delighted to be able to confirm that Merseyrail has agreed to continue their partnership with Southport Football Club.
“Over the past ten years the club and Merseyrail have forged a great relationship and we are now looking to focus on more community-related projects where we can work together around the town and surrounding areas.”
