Timetable changes Northern Line Saturday 2nd July

Due to an ongoing fault with the signalling system in the Moorfields area, it is likely that Kirkby line services will terminate and start back at Sandhills tomorrow (Saturday 2nd July).

Customers wishing to travel beyond Sandhills on the Kirkby line should change at Sandhills for all destinations.

Please also allow extra time for your journey if you are travelling on the Southport/Hunts Cross or Ormskirk line tomorrow as there are likely to be minor residual delays on all Northern lines.

The latest information will be posted on our live Twitter feed, so please follow us @Merseyrail.

Merseyrail & RMT reach agreement to meet again

Station & Service Updates

05 April 2018

On Thursday 5 April, 2018 Merseyrail confirmed that it was pleased with today’s talks with the RMT which were supported by ACAS officers. Further talks are now planned to take place within the next seven days.

Andy Heath, Managing Director at Merseyrail said:

“I am pleased at the positive progress that has been made in the discussions with the RMT
with the aim of resolving the current industrial dispute. We have jointly agreed a statement
with the RMT through ACAS which outlines the current position and we look forward to
further talks over the next few weeks”.

Latest Update (18/05/18)

“A further day of talks between Merseyrail and RMT took place under the auspices of the conciliation service ACAS. Both Merseyrail and RMT have continued to engage positively in what are very difficult and complex talks. These talks have to remain confidential, at the request of ACAS, and will continue to take place while the parties constructive approach is maintained. The next meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 5 June 2018."
