Merseyrail Fares Set to Remain Among Lowest in the UK
General Interest
Each November, we review our prices to ensure that they are competitive for all of our passengers. Historically, any price changes we make remain low and never exceed the rate of RPI. This year, the average ticket price increase was less than 1.7 per cent, while the prices of some of our tickets were frozen.
Any price changes will come into effect from the beginning of January 2018, although exact prices are still to be determined at this point.
Currently, the lowest price for a single ticket is £1.85 and the highest of a return is £8.40. According to the bi-annual National Rail Passenger Survey, Merseyrail passengers are among the happiest nationally for the price they pay for a ticket.
