From Monday 18 May, Merseyrail will be increasing services on the network, including reinstating some services before 07:00 and after 19:00, Monday – Saturday. Services will continue to run between approximately 08:00 – 20:00 on Sundays.
Earlier today, Merseyrail released its special events timetable from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 October to accommodate the high number of passengers expected to use the network during the Giant Spectacular event.
This included a limited stop service across the network and no services between Ellesmere Port and Hooton.
Merseyrail has announced that following feedback from its passengers over the course of the day, rail replacement buses will now run between Ellesmere Port and Hooton on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 October. A rail service was already planned to run on the line on Sunday 7 October.
Andy Heath, Managing Director at Merseyrail said:
“Following feedback from our passengers I am pleased to announce that rail replacement buses will run between Ellesmere Port and Hooton. It’s important that we do everything we can to meet the expectations of our passengers and I hope that our customers using Ellesmere Port will be pleased with this news.”
