Located at Woodside Ferry Terminal, visit U-534 – a German submarine which has remained shrouded in mystery since the end of World War II.
On May 5th 1945 U-534 refused to surrender despite orders from the German Admiral for all submarines to do so. To this day it’s still unknown why – suggestions include a secret mission, Nazi gold or a rogue captain.
Now you can come and explore the U-Boat - divided into four key sections with glass partitions for easy viewing both inside and out. There are also many well preserved artefacts, original film archives and interactive displays on board. So why not pay U-534 a visit and gain a unique insight into an enduring mystery from World War II.
Opening hours: U-Boat Story is open every day apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, from 10.30am. Last admission is at 4.30pm and closes at 5pm
