After a £2.3 million revamp you would never guess that 28 hectare nature spot at Port Sunlight used to be a landfill site.
It has been transformed into a beautiful location for a day out for families, couples and walkers to enjoy. Full of wildlife the salt marshes are already home to a large population of water birds, including Skylarks, making this a perfect new spot for birdwatchers and photographers. Combined with the planting of 12,000 trees the River Park is a great place for a family day out in the woodland or as a new route for dog walkers and runners.
Located 15 minutes’ walk from Port Sunlight train station visitors will also enjoy stunning views of the Wirral and Liverpool coastline as they wander through the park.
