Sometimes you just can’t beat a trip to the seaside. It’s time to grab the sunscreen, sunglasses and swimming gear and get splashing at New Brighton Beach.
After undergoing a £60 million redevelopment this beach is well worth a visit. This seaside resort in the North East corner of Wirral also has a wide range of attractions and facilities surrounding it: a bowling alley, laser quest centre, amusement arcade and a small fairground!
Along the coast there is Fort Perch Rock, which is a coast battery defence with an Aviation and Archaeology Museum that is open year round. Further along the promenade are Perch Rock Lighthouse and a park for further discovery and play! Enjoy a leisurely day on a beautiful beach, or let your kids loose on the awe-inspiring attractions nearby.
New Brighton is a lifeguarded beach but it's important to follow key safety advice:
- Check tide times and only swim within the yellow and red RNLI flags
- Be aware of soft mud. If you get into difficulty and can't see the lifeguard call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
- If you get into trouble in the water lie on your back and relax, resisting the urge to thrash about. If possible raise your hand and shout for help.
