February Half Term Guide

It’s that time again…February Half Term is around the corner and if you are looking to make plans to keep the kids entertained, look no further than this guide.

Read on to find numerous fun activities that children of any age will love, including a mix of free and ticketed events and destinations.

From golf to museums, and crafts to soft play, the options are endless. The best part? All these locations are just a short walk from a Merseyrail station, so no need to worry about travelling, and a trip on the train is another exciting activity checked off!

Events at The Atkinson

The Atkinson has gone all out for half-term, with a variety of fun events and sessions to keep everyone entertained.

Get creative at the special Chinese New Year themed Make It! Craft Workshop on Saturday 10 February. There’s another craft session on Thursday 15 February too. Or, why not join the Young Curators on Monday 12 February to ‘Unlock The Atkinson’ if you love Escape Room activities. No booking is required, and adventurers will be rewarded with a prize! The craft workshops and ‘Unlock The Atkinson’ are FREE events, proving you don’t need a big budget for big smiles!

If you really want the wow factor, consider Morgan & West’s Massive Magic Show for Kids on Thursday 15 February. The ‘relentlessly funny’ and ‘fantastical magic filled extravaganza’ is guaranteed to make all the family laugh and be shocked in amazement.

Shrek the Musical at Liverpool Empire

Fiesta of Fire at Royal Albert Dock

Royal Albert Dock's Fiesta of Fire makes its grand return. New for this year, visitors will have the exciting opportunity to participate in the art of firewalking for free as it comes to the dock for the first time on Thursday 15 February. From 2pm-4:30pm*, adults aged 18 years old and over can put their bravery to the test and experience temperatures of more than 1200°C on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.With only 70 spaces available on a first come first serve basis, click here to book.

Junkyard Golf

Give Junkyard Golf a shot this half term! There are 3 wacky and wonderful courses to choose from; the jungle course called ‘Pablo’, ‘Gary’ the disco in a garage, and ‘Bozo’, the un-fairground with a twist. Perfect for older kids, but just to note, under 18s are only permitted on Sunday to Thursday before 6pm and must have an over 18 present with them.

Wow the kids with Lady Lever Art Gallery’s Chinese New Year celebrations on Saturday 17 February. The Gallery features beautiful fine and decorative art, including their astonishing Chinese collections. The day is jam-packed full of exciting festivities, including fantastic dances, craft activities, and finding out all about the lunar new year with BBC Merseyside’s Orient Express presenter, Billy Hui.
