The Lanterns at Chester Zoo
Date: 11 November – 23 December
Location: Chester Zoo (The X1 bus service leaves from stop S5 outside of Chester train station and takes you to Chester Zoo main entrance in approximately 15 minutes)
Experience the festive favourite The Lanterns at Chester Zoo. This magical event is not one to miss; the glowing castle, huge white bear, lotus flowers, dragonflies, zebras and so much more will wow you and your loved ones.

The Showman Tour
Date: 3 December
Location: Chester Cathedral, 11:15am – 12:15pm (16 minute walk from Chester Station)
Who doesn’t love watching Christmas films? Immerse yourself in one of the best festive films, The Snowman, and the brand new Shawn the Sheep short called The Flight Before Christmas, alongside a live orchestra. This event is perfect for all the family to enjoy!

Santa’s Enchanted Grotto
Date: 25 November – 24 December
Location: The Grosvenor Shopping Centre (14 minute walk from Chester Station)
Make the little one’s Christmas wishes come true and visit Santa in the Grosvenor Shopping Centre, which will be transformed into a Narnia-inspired winter wonderland.

If your face lights up for festive parades, you will love this! Attend the Lanterns Parade this Christmas and witness the hundreds of school children walk through Chester city centre with their hand made lanterns. This joyous event is free and starts at 7pm.

Sunday Brunch with Santa
Date: Every Sunday from 27 November – 18 December
Location: Chester Cathedral, St Weburgh Street (16 minute walk from Chester Station)
Santa Clause is coming to town! Join Santa for a Sunday Brunch, with tickets ranging from £10-£15. The suggested age is 1-10 years old, and each child will meet Santa and even receive a small gift! You won’t be disappointed with this.

Shop till you drop at Chester! It’s the perfect place to buy your loved one’s Christmas gifts this year; there are two high streets and the Grosvenor Shopping Centre with to over 60 stores, so there is definitely a gift for everyone. It is also beautifully decorated with Christmas lights, making the experience so much more enjoyable and festive.
After all that shopping, why not make the most of it and have a bite to eat; there is a variety of lovely restaurants to enjoy with fabulous festive menus.
The Snow Queen

Location: Storyhouse Theatre, Hunter Street (17 minute walk from Chester Station)
If you love Frozen, you will love this! Hans Christian Anderson’s ‘The Snow Queen’ is a beautiful, classic and entertaining story about friendship, good and evil.
