Merseyrail's Christmas late night trains are back for the festive period!

Trains are running the 2 weekends before Christmas, making getting home from Liverpool city centre really easy. Check the dates, times and routes below to plan your journey. 

 

* PLEASE NOTE - the previously scheduled service on Friday 22nd December has been cancelled due to strike action by the RMT *

 

Two trains will run on the following nights:

  • Friday 15th December
  • Saturday 16th December
  • Saturday 23rd December

 

Northern Line – Liverpool Central to Southport

The train will depart Liverpool Central at 01:30am and call at: Waterloo, Formby and Southport.

Southport 0203

The train will not stop at any other stations on this line. Passengers will only be allowed to board services at Liverpool Central. This is a drop off service only.

 

Wirral Line – Liverpool Central to Hooton

The train will depart Liverpool Central at 01:30am and will call at: Birkenhead Central, Bebington, Bromborough and Hooton.

The train will not stop at any other stations on this line. Passengers will only be allowed to board services at Liverpool Central. This is a drop off service only.

 

Ticket Information

The late night train fare will be £3. If you have purchased a return or Day Saver ticket it will be valid on late trains even though the journey times are in the early hours of the following day. Also, Railpass, Saveaway, Trio and Concessionary passes are valid on the late night services.
