13 - 17 February

We have carried out detailed safety assessments of our transport arrangements during all phases of the work. During the first week of Phase 2 (13 - 17 February) all Wirral line trains will start and terminate at one platform in James Street station. To ensure this platform does not become overcrowded we have had to make small changes to the timetable for the first 5 days of Phase 2, which will affect a small number of customers travelling into Liverpool via the New Brighton and West Kirby lines between 16:00 and 18:00. Passengers on these services will need to change trains at Hamilton Square station onto the next available Chester or Ellesmere Port service towards Liverpool.

20 February - 29 May

All New Brighton and West Kirby services will start and terminate at platform 1 in James Street station Monday to Friday.

Chester & Ellesmere Port

If you travel from Ellesmere Port, Overpool or Little Sutton you will need to change at Hooton for services to James Street station between 07:12 and 18:12. Outside these hours, trains will run through to James Street platform 2.

Small timetable alterations will be made on both the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines throughout the work.

Throughout Phase 2, Chester line services will start and terminate at James Street platform 2 Monday to Friday.
