Birkdale station is battling it out for a place in the final to be crowned ‘The UK’s best-loved station’ and winner of World Cup of Stations 2023. Thanks to your support, yesterday Birkdale won the North West Group, and progressed to the semi-finals.

Southport line increased Sunday Service

Merseyrail will run a 15-minute Sunday service on the Southport line throughout the summer, starting on Sunday 28 May. Thousands of people across the city region flock to beaches along the Mersey coastline every summer, and to ensure everyone gets the best possible services, Merseyrail will boost the line from two-trains an hour up to four-trains an hour.
