Beat the Traffic

Rice Lane road will be closed for resurfacing work between Cavendish Drive and Hornby Road, Walton, from 17th January 2010 for approximately 20 weeks.

This is a busy road when it is open fully, so the diversion is likely to cause heavy congestion. Merseyrail have 2 stations that service that immediate area:

• Rice Lane - the line continues to Kirkby also calling at Fazakerley.



• Walton - the line continues to Ormskirk also calling at Orrell



• Park, Aintree, Old Roan, Maghull, Town Green and Aughton Park.

All of our stations (except Bache, Capenhurst, Little Sutton, Overpool and Ellesmere Port) are manned from start to end of service (approximately 05:30 to midnight) as well as being able to buy a rail ticket to and from any station on the national rail network, our fully trained staff will be able to advise you on the best ticket for your needs.
