Liverpool Lime Street

Lime Street Station is a mainline station as well as an underground station and it is the underground station which serves the Merseyrail network – Northern and Wirral Line’s.  You can also get trains to destinations throughout the country from Liverpool Lime Street.  

Merseyrail staff are available at Liverpool Lime Street 15 minutes before the first train leaves and 15 minutes from the end of the services and trains start at around 05:00 right through until midnight, depending on where you are travelling to.  Liverpool Lime Street has full disabled access, automatic ticket machines to help reduce waiting times, escalators, lifts and 32 cycle parking spaces.

Liverpool Lime Street is located in the heart of Liverpool city centre so offers you direct access to all the shops and tourist attractions, all of which are within walking distance of the station.  Liverpool Lime Street also offers easy access to the many workplaces situated in Liverpool city centre so expect the station to be bustling and alive during peak times with many people going about their everyday lives.

Directly opposite Lime Street Station you will find the world famous Saint Georges Hall and if you walk about two minutes down the road you will find the Empire Theatre, where the Royal Variety Performance was held in 2008.

As Liverpool Lime Street is such a large station you will also find a wide range of shops, bars and places to eat in including: -

Merseyrail Trains from Liverpool Lime Street

On the Merseyrail network you can currently travel from Liverpool Lime Street to places on the Wirral as far away as West Kirby, New Brighton, Chester and Ellesmere Port with all trains running regularly throughout the day. You can also change to the Northern line at Liverpool Central station to connect to trains to Liverpool South Parkway for Liverpool Airport and all stations to Southport.
