Liverpool Central

Liverpool Central is Merseyrail's busiest station. Liverpool Central has staff working 15 minutes before the first service and 15 minutes after the last service should you experience any problems or have any questions.

In Liverpool Central you will find a large Mtogo shop where you can buy train tickets to any rail station in England or Scotland along with a full range of sandwiches, drinks and snacks that you might need for your journey. It also has public toilets, cash machines, telephones, help points and automatic ticket machines, everything you would expect from a station of this size.

Liverpool Central, as the name suggests is situated right in the middle of Liverpool city centre, so is the perfect station to travel into if you are going shopping, for something to eat, even if you are planning a night out in the city. Liverpool Central is within walking distance of most popular attractions in Liverpool, including the new Liverpool One.

For those of you who don't know Liverpool Central is also part of a main shopping course which currently including a Sainsbury's, a Superdrug, a Thornton's as well as a high end jewellers so as soon as you leave the train you can start shopping.

Merseyrail operates Northern and Wirral line services and all trains on both lines go to Liverpool Central. There are a number of stations in South Liverpool which run into Liverpool Central including Hunts Cross, Liverpool South Parkway, Aigburth and Brunswick to name just a few. You can also get to Liverpool Central from Chester, Ellesmere Port, New Brighton, West Kirby, Southport and Ormskirk.

As you can see if doesn't matter where you are located on the Merseyrail network there are a number of trains which will get you to Liverpool Central.

Despite being smaller than Liverpool Lime Street mainline station (which serves the whole of the country and not just the Merseyrail network) in 2008/2009 Liverpool Central was the busiest station in Liverpool city centre.
