Merseyrail is a 50:50 joint venture between Serco Group Plc and Abellio. We also hold a 25 year concession agreement with Merseytravel.
We employ over 1200 people providing almost 800 local train services across Merseyside every day. We manage 66 stations as well as having staff based at our train maintenance depots and at our head office ‘Rail House’ in central Liverpool. We employ people in a number of business areas including Customer Services, Traincrew, Engineering, Train Presentation, as well as a number of clerical and managerial posts.

Young Rail Professionals

Held within the exciting and innovative Museum of Science an Industry in Manchester, the event is designed to create interest in the YRP and improve membership of the initiative.
